The American Legion, founded in 1919 in Paris France is a non-profit, patriotic, wartime vetrans organization and has since grown to be the nation's largest wartime organization of 2.5 million members, founded on the values, contributions and sacrificies of those who answered their country's call to arms. We continue to reach out to over 14,000 communities today to still serve America by standing true to the four principles, or pillars, of this organization.
National Security, Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, Children and Youth and Americanism
In Ireland, the American Legion is represented byfour Posts:

NOTE: Due to the limited number of American Legionnaires in Ireland, none of our four Posts can afford a Clubhouse or building dedicated soely for Post activities. We do, however, conduct our meetings and activities at Pubs, Hotels or Restaurants. So, for our visiting Comrades from the USA, you won't be able to drop in to our "Legion Clubhouse" for a chat and a pint. Sorry.
